What is needed to start a baseball game?

To start a game, the following equipment is needed: a ball, a bat, and a glove. In addition, a suitable playing area is required. This is a sport that can be played on outdoor or indoor courts. The field is shaped like a semicircle. Inside, there is a square with four bases, one at each point where it meets the circle. Baseball is a sport played by both men and women, although it is more common among male participants; it is also played by women's teams.
Baseball is played by two opposing teams, each with nine players, and each team member has a well-defined role. Unlike soccer, for example, there is no set time limit. Therefore, the game can last from an hour and a half, when the game is easy for one of the teams, to six hours, when the teams are very evenly matched. The game only ends after nine alternating innings between offense and defense. In baseball, there are no ties. One of the teams will always be the winner of the game.
How does a baseball game work?
The pitcher throws the ball to the batter three times. Behind the batter is the catcher from the same team as the pitcher. If the batter manages to hit the ball far enough, he must run around all the bases. He can stop at a base or run to the next. During a baseball game, the teams alternate nine times between defense and offense. The team that is on offense has to score runs, and changes its position from offense to defense every time three of its offensive players are eliminated.
The team playing defense tries to prevent the opposing team from scoring points and attempts to eliminate the opposing team's offensive players. The defensive position changes to offensive position every time the team manages to eliminate three of the opponent's offensive players. In other words, the teams switch positions as soon as three batters are eliminated. The objective is to score by hitting a pitched ball with a bat and then running around the four bases of the field. A player from the offensive team can stop at one of the bases and then advance with the help of a teammate's hit. One turn of offense and defense for each team represents an inning, and nine innings make up a professional game.
How did baseball originate?
The exact origin of baseball is unknown, but it likely evolved from similar sports involving throwing a ball. A 14th-century French manuscript contains illustrations of a competition very similar to a baseball game.
Regarding the sport as we know it today, the earliest reference is from 1744 in the United Kingdom. Sports historians claim that baseball was probably brought to the United States by British immigrants. The rules of the game were established in 1845 by the American Alexander Cartwright. The first official game was played on June 19, 1846, in New York City.
In Brazil, the sport is widely practiced by descendants of Japanese people living here. However, it was the Americans themselves who brought baseball to the country. In 1850, workers from companies residing in Brazil, such as the Light Telephone Company, and employees of the American consulate brought the sport to the country.
In 1936, the first baseball championship took place in Brazil. Following that, the São Paulo Baseball and Softball Federation was created. From 1946 onwards, it began organizing championships for this sport. In 2003, this task changed hands and became the responsibility of the Brazilian Baseball and Softball Confederation, the governing body for the sport in Brazil to this day.
